Peace Within

Peace Within

We receive Jesus’ eternal gift of peace when we accept Him as our personal Savior.  However, we maintain that peace within through our thoughts.  There is a great verse in Proverbs 3:2 Amplified which says, “For length of days and years of a life (worth living) and tranquility (inward and outward and continuing through old age till death), these shall they add to you.”

Tranquility is inward calmness, peacefulness, and stillness.  It is the absence of inner turmoil, anxiety, and worry.  When we allow negative things to rule our thoughts we suppress our gift of peace.  Colossians 3:15 says, “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.”

Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplications, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Our circumstances do not change the gift of peace within.  Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”  That is our key to maintaining peace within.  It is to keep our mind focused on the Lord.

Adversity, trials, and hardships are part of our lives.  The Lord is our excellent recourse.  He is present no matter what our circumstances.  Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”  That is great news.

Jeremiah 23:23-24 says, “Am I a God near at hand, says the Lord, and not a God afar off?  Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him? says the Lord; do I not fill heaven and earth? says the Lord.”  The Lord’s presence is with us because He dwells within us.  Take in a fresh breath of air.  With every breath you are breathing in His Presence.

2 Peter 1:4 says, “By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

We enter into His nature by our thoughts. Let’s apply this practically. When we start to feel anxious about something, or perhaps are experiencing a panic attack, immediately elevating our thoughts to concentrate on an aspect of His nature will bring about peace.  The assurance of His nature of self-existence having no limits, no boundaries, and nothing being impossible for Him is where rest is found.

2 Corinthians 10:5 says, “Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”  Those focused thoughts will let our brain know that God indeed is in control.  Our brain will then inform our body that all is well, allowing our body to return to peace within.

Hello ~ I have an amazing opportunity.  I will now be using this blog site to write blogs for our local newspaper.  Whatever I write here goes right to the newspaper online blog.  I’ve been writing articles for this newspaper for over 10 years.  Now this.  I’m excited!

So I won’t be advertising my ebooks or the upcoming paperbacks on this blog anymore.  If you don’t want to get these blogs, you can probably take your name off, but you will have to do that.  I really don’t understand the technology part.

If you want me to let you know upcoming things, or you want the short daily devotional posts that I put on facebook, then please email me and I will add you onto that daily email group.  jmadams47@gmail.com

I have been praying for years for ways to broadcast the insights that the Lord gives me.  He has certainly been answering that prayer over the last year.  35 ebooks in 7 months.  Now we are compiling those into 5 paperbacks.   To Him be all the glory.
